Hey guys. So for those of you who don’t know, a company called Personal Audio is trying to create a patent on podcasting so they can collect fees for anyone who tries to create a podcast. Personal Audio is a non-operating company, they do not sell any goods or provide any services, their sole source of income is to buy patents and then sue people for infringement. These companies are referred to as “patent trolls.”
The fight against Personal Audio is being led by Adam Corolla. He is being sued by Personal Audio and he is fighting back. Adam is the face of our fight. Adam represents not only podcasters, but podcast listeners as well. If Personal Audio is allowed to prevail, it could mean the end of podcasts as we know it.
